About pandemija

Documenting Covid-19 for posterity.

Pandemija is a Corporate Social Responsibility project intended to capture and document life in Malta during the COVID-19 pandemic. This project is being carried out under the auspices of the Ministry for Health with paramount support of GO plc. 

Pandemija as a research project is managed by Marketing Advisory Services Limited. 

The COVID-19 pandemic presents an unprecedented global social, economic, and public health crisis with short-term and long-term repercussions on everyday life.  


The crisis and its impacts deserve to be documented with a view to collating sufficient data which may then be analysed from several viewpoints in the years that follow.  

Why is Pandemija important?


On the one hand, the COVID-19 pandemic is an event that we, in Malta, are going through like and with the rest of the world.  On the other some of our responses to this situation may be quite unique to us.  


Keeping records about our ordinary local lives as we face these extraordinary global circumstances is important. In the months to come these records may reveal some new situations and issues that we are living through, and that need to be addressed.  They may also tell us about how we have successfully managed to take up and tackle new habits, like social distancing, isolation, and remote working.  In the more distant future, those who will be interested in knowing what life during the COVID-19 pandemic was like in Malta will be able to do so by looking at these records.   

We may already have been keeping records on our own, through a personal diary or journal, or through our social media pages.  Through Pandemija, all our stories can be brought together.
